I aim to work in partnership with parents to meet the needs of the children in my care, both individually and as a group.
I will recognise and accept that the parents are the most important people in the child’s life, and that they know their child best.
I will seek the parents’ views about their child’s preferences and aptitudes and any other information which is required in order to provide good, quality care for the child. I will act on these to the best of my ability.
I will show respect for each family’s beliefs, traditions and wishes for the care of their child.
I will maintain confidentiality and have in place a “Confidentiality Policy”.
I will share information with the parents about their child on a daily basis.
I will have a written contract with the parents which will include the business arrangements, and the expectations of both parties as to the care of the child.
Any concerns will be dealt with promptly.
Any complaints against myself or others will be recorded. Parents are issued with a copy of my “Complaints Procedure”.
I will keep records of parents, and emergency, contact details and G.P. details.
I will keep appropriate signed consent forms.
I will only allow a child to leave with a person other than their parent, if the parent has notified me of this first.
If a child is identified as a child in need, I will give appropriate information to referring agencies, with the parents permission.
